Tipping

Tipping is the act of providing inside information to another investor, which is illegal.

However, most of the tips that individual investors may receive from various sources, have little foundation and are usually rumors or hearsay with little value. Trading on tips is a losing game, because if the tip is real, then trading on it is illegal, but if the tip isn’t real(and it most likely isn’t real) then it’s usually going to cost the investor money.

Many investment classics have documented the insatiable appetite of small investors for tips. This pops up every time in a big bull market and usually doesn’t end well. Investor Caveat!
