Sector

Sectors are composed of similar industries. There are 11 major sectors as classified by the Standard & Poors. Some investors analyse what phase the economy currently is in and rotate their investments across sectors accordingly. Other investors pay attention to how a sector is doing because a rising tide lifts all boats and vice versa.
