Scalping
A type of trading strategy which attempts to profit off small, short term price movements. A trader may trade very often every day in order to make half a percent each trade or something even smaller.
Due to discount brokerages, trading fees have been slashed to become a relatively minor cost, paving the way for individual scalpers. Scalping takes plenty of discipline as it is imperative to cut losses quickly. In a turbulent market, adverse conditions may quickly cause the trade to go the wrong way and may result in large losses for the trader.
