Mutual Fund Cash Level

The percentage of a mutual fund’s assets that are held in cash or cash equivalents. It is an indicator of institutional investor sentiment, since when they are bullish, cash levels are generally low and vice versa. Some investors view this as an indicator of market tops or market bottoms, namely when mutual fund cash level is low, the market is near a peak and vice versa.
