Money market is a section of the financial market where highly liquid and short maturity debt instruments are traded. The money market is used by borrowers as a way to borrow short term funds, lasting from a few days to a year. Money market securities include commercial paper, US treasury bills, negotiable certificates of deposit etc. The risks of investing in the money market are perceived to be low, and investors can access them via money market funds.
