Momentum Fund

A fund that attempts to jump on the bandwagon of certain stocks or sectors that are trending in one direction. They are more popular and more profitable when the market is in a certain trend(usually uptrend) but may suffer a fate similar to a fair weather fund in times of lengthy periods without trends, or when a trend sharply reverses and the fund did not sell its holdings accordingly.
