Investment Company
A company that is in the business of managing assets for a group of investors. The assets are combined into one fund or funds and managedly accordingly. Most investment companies are registered with the SEC and are regulated by the SEC as well. Investment companies may also offer other fringe services such as tax, legal, accounting services other than portfolio management.
