Greater Fool Theory
A theory that is believed mostly by its practitioners that money can be made in securities by buying them and selling them to a higher price (”the greater fool”). This often leads to investments in securities of dubious quality in hope of being able to flip them at a quick profit. This could lead to disaster for the investor if the scenario does not materialize and the speculative security plummets in price.
