Goldbrick Shares
A stock that appears to be valuable on the appearance but is in fact worth very little.
Goldbrick shares tend to occur in times of excess, where euphoria drives undeserving companys’ stock to the roof and gives glamor and appeal to essentially worthless investments. It may also occur due to intentional misleading of the public by management as occured in the “Bre-X” scandal.
