Forecasting

Forecasting a security’s price movement is basically making predictions on where a security’s price will go in the future. Some investors do this with great conviction while other believe that forecasting is a futile process which is probably less reliable than throwing darts at a tickerboard. Warren Buffett was noted to have said that “Prophecies don’t tell you much about stocks, but they do tell you  a lot about the prophet”.
