Closed-End Fund
These operate as shareholder owned publicly traded companies, but concentrate on investing the funds raised. It could be thought of as a mutual fund, except that it is traded on the stock exchange. However, the stock may trade at a premium or discount to the net asset value, as the price of the stock also reflects supply and demand for the fund’s shares.
A closed-end fund is different than a open-end fund.
