Candlestick
Candlesticks are graphic representations of stock prices not unlike bar charts, but are more visual. A trader can see the open, high, close and low price for a security from a candlestick for a specific period of time.
Candlesticks are colored which makes it easier to see if the price is up or down. There are also many candlestick patterns which are said to be useful to traders. Steve Nison wrote an in-depth discussion of potential candlestick trading techniques in his book, “Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques”
