Average Daily Trading Volume
Average daily trading volume is calculated by dividing the amount of shares traded during a specified time by the length of the period.
Average daily trading volume gives an idea of how liquid the stock is. Liquid stocks tend to be easier to buy/sell with smaller spreads between the bid and ask price. An illiquid stock could be difficult to sell without incurring a few percent losses.
