American Stock Exchange – AMEX

The American Stock Exchange is one of the three majors stock exchanges in the US(the other two being the NYSE and Nasdaq). It is known for its liberal policies towards company listing, and hence most of the shares traded on the AMEX tend to have smaller capitalizations compared with stocks listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq.
