All Cap Fund
An all cap fund is one that holds stocks of various sizes and is not limit to simply small, mid, or large capitilization. “Cap” is a short form of capitilization which is found by multiplying the number of currently outstanding shares with the stock’s current price.
There are several general classifications of market cap:
- Large Cap which are stocks with a capitalization of over $10 Billion
- Mid Cap which are stocks with a capitalization of $2 Billion – $10 Billion
- Small Cap which are stocks with a capitalization of $300 million to $2 Billion
Fund designations give investors an idea of the types of companies the fund will be investing in. Portfolio managers can hold equity positions in any size company within an all cap fund.
