Absolute Priority
The rule that decides the order for payment in case a company goes bankrupt. The rule states that creditors must be paid before shareholders get anything(usually what’s left over, if anything). Senior creditors are always paid off first, then junior creditors, then preferred stock holders, and finally shareholders get what’s left.
