100% Equities Strategy
An investment strategy that requires that all holdings are equity positions. This means only listed stocks and over-the-counter stocks are utilized. Excluded are options, futures, bonds etc. Mutual funds and ETFS will often inform investors in its prospectus that the fund utilizes a, “100% equities strategy”.
Risk with this type of investment vehicle is typically greater because volatility is more substantial with individual stocks versus a more conservative asset class such as bonds or even cash. Historically a well diverisifed 100% equities portfolio performs better then a more conservative portfolio.
