Stock values

Hello,

I work for an attorney. We have a client that was given rights to certain of her husbands stocks in the divorce.

On October 22, 1986 she was given ownership of 165 shares of her husbands stock in NYSE:LNC .
How do we find out the value of that stock today.

I pulled up on one of the quote sites where Lincoln National Corporation is currently selling at about 15.33 per share.

But, how do we know if the stock has split or how that 165 shares on 10-22-86 has fared before today?

Thanks for any advise on how to proceed.

Ray

I would use a site like Yahoo Finance and see what historical splits or whatever have occurred in the stock. That should definitely give you a starting point.

Fyi Yahoo Finance showing last split was 2 for 1 in 1999,

hello traders,
How much is that stock you're thinking about buying really worth? Our Price Check Calculator can help you estimate a fair price to pay for a stock based on three main things: the company's earnings, the rate at which those earnings are projected to grow and the stock's volatility.
