The only reason I know how to use it so well is becasue we went over it a few times in Financial Accounting.
If you know when the company is comming out with earnings, just go to that EDGAR site when they are suppose to release them, type in "10-q", that exact phrase less the quotation marks, 10-q, hyphen and all, 10-q.
From there you should see all the companies that have released their quarterly reports in time order.
If you want to get really fancy, you could look through some of their old reports and find exactly when they call the diluted EPS. From there, say they use the standard phrase, "Diluted EPS". You could click on their Quaterly report, to to Edit>Find on this page (on your internet explorer), then type the phrase "Diluted EPS" in the box click search a few time and you'll have the numbers you're looking for within less than a minute of the Quarterly release
