Did Warren Buffett reduce his AXP holdings down to 1%? I have found conflicting information on the web.

Is AXP in good financial health? i.e. Will it survive?

First thing to look at is if they got TARP money (bail out) and how much. If the bail out injection is large in regard to the market capitalisation (like more than 30%), it's a sell because it risk to be highly diluted in the future.

Second check news on BRK-A to see if Buffy sold his AXP stake. If he did, it's a bad sign.

Well, the latest SEC filings from 9-30-08 suggest Warren Buffett has been slightly selling AXP.
It consists of 1% of Warren's portfolio(Warren owns 13% of the company). Perhaps it's a coincidence with your comment of his owning only 1% of AXP.

I'm a Berkshire Hat. shareholder and I never heard that Buffy sold his stake in AXP.
