Washington Mutual Stocks And Bankruptcy......

Hello. I am interested in buying Washington Mutual Stocks (WAMUQ) but I was told not too because I would lose all the stocks when they come out of Chapter 11.

Is this a real concern?

The person that told me this said she got that info from her stock broker.

It's a very real, realistic possibility, yes.

I can't think of one incident where the common stock shareholders were ever recompensed for their loss, when a company came out of bankruptcy.

Ya, I would stay away from these types of risky investments. There is no point in buying a company in such bad shape when you can buy companies actually growing and turning a profit.
