Big Oil Stocks acquired by the Government ??

Is it possible, that in the interest of National Security, the FEDS can seize control of the Big Oil Stocks ? And, if so, What would happen to the stock prices and shareholders??

I never heard of such thing. maybe in time of world war or war on US soil, there is a plan to size oil facilities or something. But, stocks, I don't think so.
