Found Stock...don't know what to do...

I found some stock of my late father's under the name Management Data Services Inc, issued in the State of Washington but it looks like it's been transferred and transferred over and over and I can't find any info about it. Any suggestions as to how I go about finding out the value of it? It was issued at 350 shares and then said 5,000,000 shares of common stoce at .05 each authorizzed. I know nothing about stocks. Any help would be apprecieted. Thanks

How long did he hold the stock for? When you say "transferred over and over" I am assuming the stock was bought out or split?

Typically the best way to track down old stock held is to trace it back through the broker where it was originally purchased. Do you have a certificate claiming the shares in your father's name?

Blain, We do have the certificate claiming the shares in my fathers name, but it doesn't have the broker's name anywhere on it. It's dated Dec 2, 1982. Other then that, we're kind of in the dark. It's signed by a President and Secretary. It states the my father "is the owner of 350 common shares of the Capital Stock of Management Data Services, Inc." We've Googled the company and found that it's been transferred (bought out) a number of times. How does one go about finding out if the stock is still valid? Thanks
