I would read up on the news of how the split occurred because that should tell you what is or will be happening to your shares.
In a typical split like you mentioned the shares should be split between both companies and hold the same relative value when the split actually occurs.
My guess is that the split isn't finalized yet for shareholders, because thinking outloud there is no way the company can determine that, "oh, person A should only get company b stock, and person b should only get company a stock."
Dig through the latest headlines and see what you can pull up.
