Getting Started

I realize the answer to my question may be on the site already but I haven't found it and everything I've read so far doesn't exactly answer my question. The thing is I'm new to stocks and I know probably less than 10 words of the lingo. I read that I should go to investopedia.com to try out free simulation playing stocks but I don't know whether to do that now or later after I've read more on the subject. Basically besides looking at this site how should I actually go about getting started with some practice in the stock market when I don't even know what types of stock to pick as well as all the in's and out's like things you should do and not do.

I had a series of videos that gave my basic ideas regarding how you should get started; starting with my own story in Part I and Part II that I try to make a bit of a wakeup call about the business. Then there is the Educational Roadmap, and then Implementation.

But there's a lot out there (and here at Stock Trading to Go). I mean, the Forums have a lot of questions, and there is a veritable wealth in the blogs to search through. There is the sticky "Free Stock Education" in this section. You find a term you aren't familiar with? Good ol' Investopedia will help you out, and ask questions here on any concept you're having a hard time with.

One book I like a lot is Dr. Alexanders "Trading for a Living".

There are quite many jargons that investors need to learn in the beginning. If we give you a detailed explanation of many jargons, you may be quite packed. My suggestion is for you to ask any questions you may have in the forum. How about following one particular company that you really like and ask questions from there? Better still, if you want to tell us what company you are interested in, we would tell our analysis regarding this particular company.
