I own 2500 shares of Tweeter Home Entertainment, and their ticker symbol is TWTRQ (The Q standing for bankruptcy). If the company started to do well and issued new shares under the new ticker TWTR, would TWTRQ shares be worth nothing? Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks!
No, it would not be worth anything as it is just a change in the ticker. This is different then a bankrupt where the stock becomes worthless and then the company re-issues new shares.
The only time when shares you have are converted over for example would be when you own a pink sheet company, .ob or whatever and the company ends up moving up to a bigger board due to its growth.
