I recently found I had 126 shares of Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation stock that was issued to me in 1983. The company was subsiquently acquired by Panhandle Eastern and again acquired by Duke Energy and spun off into Spectra Energy Group. I need to know if the stock still has any value since its subsequent acquisition by several companies and what I need to do to sell the stock.
I would start the trail from the beginning. Go to the broker where your original stock was held, and actually should still be held. With two acquisitions those shares should be worth a pretty penny by now.
Technically all the conversions have been done automatically for you, did you get any letters from the acquiring companies regarding your shares when the acquisitions took place?
