A biginners question

Hi all,
I am still learning this game.

A question passed by.

if i buy 1000 shares for 1.00 $ each, will the online broker charge me (example $ 7.00) to buy 1000 shares or will be charge me $7 on each share, if he does that then 1000x7 = $ 7000.

I am confused here.

and if i sell it then again he will charge me $7 on each share to sell it.

Logically my mind says:

he should charge $7 on any amount of shares i buy, so if i buy a 1000 shares for $1 each then the actual cost of my share is 1007 and I should be that I made more than 1014 in order to get some profit.

Sorry for this guys, as i said i am new to this game.

Thanks for reading.

If you buy 1000 shares or 10 shares or just one share, you will be charged the same, in this case $7.

So if you buy 1000 shares at $1, your total cost will be $1007 and to break even you will need to sell them for $1014 indeed.

If the commission was $7 a share, you imagine that nobody would trade any stock, except maybe BRKA .
