I am new to stocks.
My company is sponsoring me for one course from a list which is mostly unrelated to stocks. I selected the one below. Do you think it will help me in stock trading?

Course Description
The course provides an overview of the future securities markets principles of avoiding risk and methods for exacting highest returns within futures markets.
Take the class. You may not trade futures, but you may trade ETF or ETNs based on futures. Options you will use with out a doubt. There are many opportunities in options (option writing) that cannot be done with stocks.
Futures have more risk that stocks because of the value of a tick, and limit up/limit down days. If you are on the wrong side of the market on limit up or down days losses can be extreme.
The more you learn the better. I am sure you will find down the road that the class tied some other topic of investing together.
