Avanex (AVNX)

Like NT, another high tech company which could turn profitable in a foreseable future.
Their operations have improved regularly over the last 4 years, since the Nasdaq/dot.com collapse while the stock price is almost unchanged since may 2006.

Good buy under $1.50. But be prepared for some roller coster rides.
Do your own DD...

(Owning already. Plan to buy more at $1.50.)

There is long term support around $1.50, but by gosh if that support fails and you see AVNX trade down to say $1.45 on heavy distribution volume I would get out of your long position real fast.

I don't know enough about the company to argue its future either way, but technically speaking buying into this dip and selling back at $1.75ish wouldn't be a bad play (if you get the move).

I followed the company for quiet while.
They have gone through very though times. Last two years thought, their core business improved quarter after quarter and lately they announced that profit is round the corner.
Yet the stock price hasn't moved up accordingly.

Everybody feared that mega mergers in the telecoms sector would reduce demand for telecom gears, yet Avanex doesn't see any slow down in orders from their main clients and, interrestingly, from Nortel in particular.

Bought today at $1.54.
I'll tell you (or you will tell me) in two years if it was a wise move...

Unexpected loss in share value: The company has been dropped by their reseller in France. The expect 10% less sales because of that, but the stock plunged 40%.
Oversold IMO. It's also the opinion of one analyst.

I'll buy more between .80 and .90.
