BERKSHIRE Hattaway (BRK-B)

I'm contemplating buying a few BRK-B for long term, capital preservation, investment. It seems to solidly wheather the market volatility. It's been up 11% in two months. A little bit too fast IMO. Do you think there be a retraction of the share price? $4200 would be nice for me. Or I shouldn't worry about that?

Finaly some bad news for BRK-A/B. LOL.

If the rest of the market rebound and BRK is down, I'll buy... one or two shares.

I can't believe the run Berkshire has had, the stock cannot be stopped it seems until the day Warren dies. I thought $100k a share on BRKA was high but the stock today closed at $135,700 which is absolutely nuts. Actually today was another all-time high close.

Berkshire typically a good long term play

I'm a huge fan of BRK (for obvious reasons). Somehow, Buffett just knows how to buy good companies on the cheap. I've also heard that his method of investing and management is well ingrained in the company (since many wonder what will happen to Berkshire once he heads to the great big market in the sky).

That being said, I would like to see a dividend from the stock someday, and BRK-A has already seen a 28% rise in share price (trailing 52 week). With a forward P/E of around 22, the question is: Would Buffett buy his own stock at this price?

There will never be a dividend because the value of the share is directly tied to the value of their portfolio.
It was a decision from the beginning not to pay dividend.

What is amazing is that the stock rose 13% in the last 3 month while the rest of the market was down.
Poeple and banks are putting their money into BRK, for safety.

That makes sense - given that the market is so volatile right now. Investors are confident Berkshire continues to hold quality in its portfolio.

BRK-a/b have been spectacularly stable and even rising during the roller-coaster rides in the market we had recently.
I don't know what's so special about it because Berkshire is mainly US busnesses.
But it has been a reliable safe heaven in the storm, at least until now.

I finaly bought @4266 last week. Right on time!
