scottrade.com doesn't offer a user-defined login. Huh? I have several broker/financial accounts and all offer a user-defined login.
Scot Trade REQUIRES entering your account number as a login. This bothers me for two reasons:
- It's not user friendly. I don't feel I should remember their login. A user-friendly site should remember my login. Simply link my user-defined login to my account number. Sheesh! That's web site design 101.
- Poor security. Although the password also provides security, broadcasting that the login is an eight-digit number isn't wise.
I'm asking this as I'm rather tired of suggesting the enhancement to Scot Trade. I've been told for years "that's on the drawing board." That's on the drawing board Gracie? User-defined logins are extremely common (for good reason) and have been for years.
Does anyone else feel their login is backward (that's being kind). It seems Scot Trade is somewhat insulated and the fox is guarding the chicken coop. I say that as my suggestion always goes to tech, which apparently doesn't care.
