More than happy with them ...

Yeup. I've used Sharebuilder for years, and I am more than happy with them.

I will say, that it's best to understand that they gear themselves more towards buy and hold investors (especially if you're a dividend investor) than trading. Their platform is very basic, and the $4 is only if you automatically invest on the Monday / Tuesday of the week.

If you go in knowing that? I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

Well, I tell ya ... I firmly believe that Zecco engaged in a bait and switch a couple of years ago, so I don't use them. In addition, their platform is more basic than Sharebuilders.

When it comes to brokers? It's all a big balancing decision. This against that.

Sharebuilder also allows "automatic investments" every Tuesday for rates as low as $1.00 each. This is under the Advantage pricing program: For a subscription fee of $20 per month, the account holder can make up to 20 automatic Tuesday purchases at no additional cost...

I'm in the process of getting rid of my Sharebuilder account. I'm having everything rolled over to Scottrade. In my opinion, I'd rather pay the $7 trades plus small commissions vs the Sharebuilder trade plus large commissions.

Sharebuilder is perfect for anyone who has never invested before (they make the process very simple, and easy to do). Also, investors with a long-term buy and hold strategy can do well with a diversified portfolio through Sharebuilder.I have my Sharebuilder account setup to auto-debit my checking account every two weeks. So far, I’ve been very pleased with my Sharebuilder experience. Setting up my account was a breeze. I had my stocks selected and investment schedule setup in about 10 minutes. Sharebuilder invests at the open market on Tuesday mornings.
