Rejected trade
I have been an active trader with Regal Discount Securities for over 14 years. I normally enter my trades using their VoiceBroker service. I maintain a good account and despite some shortcomings of their current VoiceBroker service, I haven't previously had any foul-ups of trade executions.
On 10/28/08 I entered a trade. Whenever there is any problem, the VoiceBroker directs me to call my broker. Otherwise, if my order is accepted, I am given a confirmation number.
I am now told that they have stopped accepting certain orders entered over their VoiceBroker service, but they didn't make all the needed changes which would have prevented me from receiving the number that tells me that my order has been accepted.
We're talking about 5,000 shares at 11 dollars and change that shot up that day, the next day and a week later was trading at over 17 dollars per share!
Everyone, to whom I've spoken, has told me to grin and bare it. Your comments would be appreciated.
