Ameritrade Orders

Hi i am also rather new to trading stocks even though ive had an ameritrade account for a year. I am beginning to trade more actively and am getting frustrated when my orders never execute. I put limit orders in for what i think the stock is going to drop to, and the picks i had have been sitting at those prices for over an hour and my orders dont go in. Anyone have any suggestions for this problem?

Is the order display as active? Is the account active? Has the limit price been hit on the bid - ask spread? Where's the limit order in relation to the spread?

There are alot of variations when using limit orders. I use TD Ameritrade as well and I have never had a problem.

Some factors to consider are whether or not you are trading after hours (this is an option to make your limit order live during this period of day), are you trading penny stocks (basically what how many shares are traded), and if the price is actually being hit.

It is easy to enter these trades wrong so I can see how it can be frustrating.
