Do you think it is possible to predict stock trends???

I just heard about this new site called FundGeek through this: Long Term Stock Predictions and was just wondering everyones take on it. Is it possible?

Anything is possible, but it is a matter of executing. There are many newsletters and services out there predict major trends several years ahead and bank on them (or go bankrupt) betting heavily on them.

Hedge funds do this quite often, unfortunately many get burned

I predict that in 10 years AIG sotcks will be at $20.23.
Yeah, by then, you will have forgotten about me.

The problem is that we never remeber of the long term predictions when they come through.

Try using a site like the MarketWatch Community, Community Home - MarketWatch Community, or any site that takes advantage of the predictwallstreet.com technology.

It is not possible to predict stock market prices and it is DEFINITELY not possible to calculate them using calculus.The problem with mathematically deducing what a stock will do is that the stock market does not follow equations or anything like that. The "variables" in the stock market are beliefs, feelings, instincts, etc instead of ratios and constants and such. It is kind of like asking if you can mathematically predict love using calculus. Is there an equation that will tell you if someone will fall in love with you? No. Same with the stock market.
