EDIT:: Moved to bottem

Hello all,

Ive been looking high and low for a site that rates online brokers and search utilities, even bought a book that had a ton of sites to look at. Only 5-10% of them actually had anything good on them. But nothing so far for what im looking for. Most of the ones i did actualy find that still worked only had 4-6 sites listed on them. And they were set up alot like an add. Does anyone know of any sites that actually ranks brokers and utilities and are not trying to sell them too you to make a comision.

What would be neet if someone could start a ranking system here based on actual peoples experiance with dealing with them.

Free sites will only get a person so far from what ive seen and I dont have the Time, Money, and Patence to personly evalluate each and every one.

On a side note does anyone know of the shortest time delay for stock quotes is on the net? And is there there any brokers that have realtime zero delay guotes?

Anyways have to run, i will have more questions on this subject.

EDIT::: for the heck of it.. ill try to keep this up to date as people post and as i find sites.

I use MSN money to get realtime quotes and I also use Yahoo finance on ocasion. The msn gives you 50 free real time quotes per day. You need to have an account there but that is free.
Hope this helps you out,
Joe

I think Interactive Brokers is the best you can use for an individual account. It lets you take positions in almost every financial market, and has very low commisions. I recommend Interactive Brokers by far.

yahoo finance for stats, Ameritrade Izone ($5 flat fee trades) for your broker, dailygraphs.com for charts (costs money) = sick combination

I really wanna meet someone who uses Etrade, they are the 2nd biggest I believe behind Ameritrade yet I haven't had the opportunity to speak with any users!

SirD nice call on the stats sheet, g/l keeping it updated, lol.

Have a great weekend all,

What is the minimum amount required for opening an account?
"Generally, $1,000 equity is required to open an IRA and $2,000 equity is required to open any non-IRA. Your minimum initial deposit is based on the account type you have selected and may be modified by special promotional offers. Regardless of any promotional offer, a $2,000 minimum deposit is required to be considered for margin and options privileges. "

SirD, i got that right off Ameritrades website. I think that answers your quesiotn for ya.
Take care.
