Good books to learn about stock
Since im new to stocks and want to learn the ins and outs of buying/selling. I am going to buy a couple books to get an idea as to what im going against. In my opinion, learning is best done by teaching yourself how to do something. The books will help me learn the basics while I teach my self the rest. What books would you suggest for Short selling and other things I need to learn to set me up in the beginning.

Two books that are highly suggested are "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham and "Trading for a Living", by Dr. Alexander Elder.
As well, there are many free educational sites. If you swarm past the forum on this site, and look to the other areas of StockTradingToGo, you'll find a lot of good, free information. Another one out there I recommend to folks is InformedTrades.com

David Waring (InformedTrades.com) is the one that got me turned on to Dr. Elders "Trading for a Living". By the time I got to the book, I had already discovered much of what he said. My 'mentor' I suppose you could say in regards money management was Larry Williams. But it cannot be overstressed. Money management are literally the keys of the kingdom.
Was just talking with David Waring of InformedTrades.com on this topic recently. It seems the 'money management' sermon is getting to newer traders, sooner. When I started back in 1996, new traders never heard a thing about it. I had been trading real money for like, 2 or 3 years before I had even heard the words "money management". I wonder what impact this will have on the markets overall? If ones have the discipline to follow through on money management principles, the first thing that comes to my mind - is a less volatile market.

By far the best book out there is Stan`s weistein`s "secrets for profiting in a bull and bear market" it is quoted many times by the people in the market wizards as there success to the markets.
William o`neils, Jesse livermore,Nicholas darvas are all good books but the above beets them all----rich The Stock Teacher, Stocks ready for big moves !
