Thumbs up 200 Day Moving Average

I really haven't quite figured out how to use this affectively yet. This line can be great to call for support or resistance, especially if the line is right ontop of the 50 MA. Shorting wise the fall below the 200 MA with the cross of the 50MA below can be a very bearish sign. O'neil mentions this is in his book on shorting. Any use this line effectively to make trades?

My best use for 200 day is to evaluate whether a stock has had a good year or bad year. If it is above it's 200 day, then it has had a better year than the year before.

200 day and 50 day are Excellent for long terminvestors who are looking across a scope of 5 years or more.
