So how do you pick a venture capital candidate? In other words, how do you be a good venture capitalist?

Page 109 of The Millionaire Next Door has the answer. "But [Mr. Allen had] never extended credit to people who exhibited the big-hat-no-cattle philosophy. In his mind, such people would never be able to repay their debts;" the same is true when making an equity investment in a business.
