IRA

I've been doing some research and am curious... who here has a self - directed IRA?

My Dad told me to open an IRA recently, haven't done it yet though. Do you have one Kristen?

Yes it's definitely a good idea, I was learning about it at one of the seminars I attended recently. I don't have one either, but am planning to as well. The self - directed IRA is better than the usual one because you have total control of your investments rather than a financial advisor or "expert." lol Sounds just right for you Blain because I know how you like to be in control of your own finances and that is the right way to do it.

So, just to get this straight in my mind, you would pay tax on the money and then it would be entered into the IRA, and income made from trading the IRA would be tax free if taking out after the allowed time? And with a self-directed, it is really the same as having a stock account, but you can't take the money out right away?
