BitTorrent Bubbles Up
I don't know about you, but in the next few years I see a whole new world of television completely different from its traditional ways. Its already starting to happen with youtube and networks streaming their shows online, but thats only the tip of the iceberg. Soon we will be streaming HIGH QUALITY shows to our television sets instead of watching a 4 inch square on the computer. Can you imagine that man? Its something Back to the Future couldn't even comprehend.
This is how I see it happening:
Step 1: Google buys Youtube.
Step 2: Google signs content contracts with major networks.
Step 3: Google buys Divx to get high quality video format (that is key!)
Step 4: Google sells a "Tivo like" box that can access their network through the television. Maybe charge a monthly fee, maybe not.
Step 5: I sit on my couch 24/7 and never get bored.
Step 6: America gets even fatter then it is today.
