Yahoo Real-Time Streamer.... review... it sucks.

My setup is 3 monitor (site is down temporarily)
http://www.geniv.com/storage/officeupgrade.JPG

I use Ameritrade Streamer. It's very good and feature rich but it's limited to 5 realtime streaming chart. and with 3 20" lcd monitor I wanted to put more charts in so I was looking for another realtime streamer suite that I can use in conjunction with my ameritrade streamer.

I tried and signed up for the YAHOO FINANCE Real-Time quote/streamer.

They have a FREE 14 days trial but they stated the condition:
" YOU MUST CANCEL WITHIN THE 14-DAY TRIAL PERIOD OR YOU WILL BEGIN TO BE CHARGED THE SUBSCRIPTION FEE FOR THE BILLING PLAN YOU SELECT. "

When u sign up they make you give them your credit card number.

I didn't use it for the next few days since the first time use was very disappointing. So I proceed to cancel it. The problem is they DON'T TELL YOU HOW TO CANCEL IT!.
I was looking on the site and terms for almost 1 hour and I couldn't find any link, email, telephone # to cancel it. There was no instruction or documention on how to cancel it..

And on top of that, today I saw a pending montly charge on my card.. (it's only been 4 days since I signed up)
If that is not a scam I don't know what is. I just called my credit card company to dispute the charges.
screw you Yahoo. my next stop after posting this thead is the Better Business Bureau

Anyway: someone post me a link to cancel for anyone that is unfortunate enough to sign up

On to the actual Yahoo Real-Time streamer review:
-=-=-=-
(sorry but I can't post screenshot as I uninstalled it weeks ago and I don't want to dirty my HD with that crap again)

I just started daytrading and the Ameritrade streamer suite is what I am comparing it to.

In general the entire streaming suite is very basic. with not much options or toolset. it is very primitive compared what is avaliable to me through ameritrade and their streaming suite. They do have a stock screener (where's my AMTD doesn't have one ) but I didn't play with it much and never used a screener so I can't comment on it.

I was mainly interested in it for the streaming charts. I didn't have a chance to try it during the day trading hours. I was testing it during afterhours.

The entire suite. seems.. how should I say it. half assed. not much features or toolset within the windows. the windows itself it a waste of space on the screen. As a trader I would like the have the most information displayed to me within my desktop space as possible. The yahoo charts seems to not display too much info. and when you resize or even use the default size it seems to have alot of wasted blank space on the windows that could be used for other indicators or info. with the Yahoo RTS. I can open up more than 5 chart windows but I can't efficiently place them in the screen as their windows takes up more space to show the same or less info than the AMTD one.

It is java based and it's very unstable.. I know it's not my machine because my ameritrade streamer is also java based and it have TONS of features and there's no stability problem.

When I open up a streaming chart and after I put in ticker symobol. for some reason I can't close it after that. heck I can't even close the streamer control panel either. I have to goto task manager to force close it.

after playing around with it for 2 hours I just uninstalled it.
and never used it again.

My experience with the Yahoo realtime.

I have had another expreience with Yahoo! First, at home I have a four (4) LCD workstation with ESignal, TC2007, Wealth Lab Pro and Fidelity Active Trader Pro. The problem is I have to work for a living for a large defense company and be away from my best programs. So to help me keep an eye on the markets and my stocks I use Yahoo! Finance Real-Time. They're streming quotes work great for me along with their Yahoo! Finance MarketTracker with Real-Time Quotes. I've actualy used it for yours now and I pay a year in advance. I'm probably more serious about trading than a lot of people, but I can't stand the though of not having real-time data, and for $10 a month, that is very cheap.

I also wonder if having two programs using Java are competing for the same resources or somthing. How much RAM do you have?
