You know the U.S. economy is pretty scary when an AP report contains the words “crippled,” “worse,” “deteriorate” and “bleak.” (
Fed says US economy will get worse in 2009) The Federal Reserve predicts that “unemployment could climb as high as 8.8% this year and that the economy would contract for a full calendar year for the first time since 1991.”
On the horizon, however, the Fed sees a golden dawn, with joblessness falling to 6.7% in 2011 and GDP growing by up to 5%.
