Ever see red from trying to figure out something that should be stupidly simple?!

Yeah. That's where I'm at right now. I swear I want to smash something into a billion bits. I'm going to rant a bit here.

So I started the "Blog" thing a while back. I'm using "Blogger" which I'm quickly coming to the conclusion - a bad idea. I figure - hey I keep seeing this "Subscribe" thing on every other blog I visit, so I probably need one. "Subscribe" sounds like a good idea right?

So I slowly begin my descent into the maddening hell of whatever a "Feed" is.

I don't want to brag but I'm not a dumb guy. I have a 174 IQ. I invest and trade for a living. I consider myself well read, and well traveled. I helped construct the network that GM uses at their world headquarters. I was the first tech ever assigned to their world headquarters at the Ren Cen. Heck, I even play with Linux for crying outloud. So it's not as if I don't know my way around a computer.

I couldn't even get a straight answer as to what a "Feed" was, or why in the hell I needed one. It took me compiling information from about 20 different pages and forums to even figure that out. People can't seem to get the concept through their freaking head that you don't define a term with that same term My GOD!

So anyways, I'm breathing easier. I understand the Feeder will strip the blog of all the bells and whistles and deliver it to different places easier. I finally got that. And I got a feed through Feedburner, and I got the whole URL thingy (I think) Then allllllll I wanted, was the stupid little script, that would give me what every other freaking blog in the universe has.

Subscribe here. Maybe, if I'm feeling a little adventurous, a little "Subscribe by email" and a little graphic.

I don't want to learn HTML. I don't want to hear definitions of terms that lead the same word. At most, I should have to cut / paste some HTML into a box, and replace a line with my Feeder URL.

GOD! I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!

You should have contacted me. I can set you up at your own brand new domain, hosting covered, include wordpress installation for your blog, and burn your feed for you for $100 out the door! why try to learn it on your own when someone can do it for you .

I feel ya on the rant though, frustrating isn't it? lol.

No doubt. I definitely should have given you a holler. I 'finally' got it figured out. But my lord in heaven. I feel like I wanted to shoot someone if they told me one more time:

A feed, is where you feed your feed to the net by using a feed / chiplet / widget / applet / html and then that will get your feed out . . . .

Ok, I will check that out when I get home from work today. I just don't trust my computers at work since they are only terminals at the bank.
