New Competition for 2 person teams

My buddy Jeff and I are different when it comes to investing. He is more conservative and I like to take more risks. We got to talking and decided to try to team up our styles a bit. The way we decided to do this was to make a new game on Investopedia and to use the combined score to determine how we do total gains divided by 2 = the total gain or loss. The game is a private game and is for teams of two or more. anyone can join by registering the team here with the investopedia names I will then PM the pass word to your team. The details of the game are as folllows:
Starting cash is $50K US$ and CAN$
The competition is private need a password
(join game) by pressing the link you can join.
Look at the details to see what is allowed trading wise.
We intend this to be a team effort so try to find someone you can communicate with. We tried to keep this to a 100k per currency per team kind of thing. We intend to try certain strategies to see how well team efforts will go toward making money. Anyone interested in participating post here and if you need a partner post that here to.

The first team consists of ggod and gijoe9 a couple of Canadian kids. We intend to restrict our trading. We have agreed to discuss all our trades except for a discretionary amount for each of us and will not buy without the agreement of the other. I am intending to use 40k of each currency to buy 4 income earning equities the positions will be 10k each +- 2% 5-7k will be for speculation 1k will be for speculation in options and 3-4k will be in cash for short term opportunities. We have already discussed some of our trades. Jeff will be using a similar strategy but will be much more diversified. He will be seeking value plays in blue chips he will also have some of his port in speculative plays. Jeff will not be using options.

You do not have to post your strategy here but feel free to do so if you like. We intend to maintain this game for at least one yr and probably more. If you do not trade in Canadian equities just ignoe that Currency and trade only in US$'s. I intend to post team standings in this forum. If you have trouble finding a team mate let me know and I will try to hook you up. Good luck to all,
Joe

End of week one of the experiment saw some gains. The USD agregate is $100,439.40 up .44% and the CAD agregate is $101599.05 up 1.6%. Jeff saw a loss on his speculation on C.CVQ of around 6% or $380 CAD I bought into CVQ at 2.85 in an effort to hedge his loss and when it closed the day at $3.00 we showed a slight loss. Jeff focussed on energy stocks and pharmacueticals. He also went with several ETF's they are up fractionaly on the week. I am up $1500 CAD and did well with my large caps I also broke even on my swing trades in the small caps. I did not do well on options this week and I am showing a loss of US $200.00 on the week. Half of the options are puts on companies that are up and are just for hedging. The other half of the options are calls on KMP speculating that the price will trend up in the next 3-6 months.
