Competition Details and Rules

Starting Cash - $100,000
What is allowed? Margin, Options
Currency - USD
Market Order Delay - 20 minutes (this means that when you place a trade, investopedia.com will wait 20 minutes before filling it)
Daily Volume - 10% (you can only trade up to 10% of the stocks current daily volume. If XYZ has traded 40,000 shares already today, then you can only buy up to 4,000 shares at that time.
Minimum Price - $1 (the stock must be $1 or more per share for you to be able to buy it)
Minimum Price to Short - $5 (the stock must be $5 or more per share for you to be able to short it)
Minimum Price to buy on Margin - $5 (the stock must be $5 or more per share for you to be able to buy it on margin)
Diversification - .50 (you can put as much as 50% of your portfolio into one stock)
Commision Market - $7.99 (it is $11.99 of your pllay money to conduct a market order)
Commision Limit - $7.99 (it is $11.99 of your play money to conduct a limit order)
Commision Options - $7.99 + $1.75 per contract (it is $11.99 to do an options trade, and it costs an extra $1.75 for each contract you purchase).
Cash Interest - .01 (you earn 1% on your money a year)

is there any way to turn margin on or off on individuals? i personally dont like to trade margin but i dont wanna sit there and calculate exactly how many to buy without margin

No, I apoligize Taylor but there is no way to turn on or off margin for your specific accout as it is always on. With some time I am sure you will adjust to the system, and it will only help you down the road once you decide to add margin in real life. I apoligize though for any inconvenience that may cause. Best of luck to you in the competition.

nah not much of an inconvenience and i also dont beleive in playing with the houses many, youre asking to get burned, /me turns margin off in real life:P

im brand new at this but im getting up ther 5th right now im coming for lehayes with a week or so left. thnaks alot blain and whoever else set this up this isa real good education tool
