Hi everyone. This is my first time posting so bear with me if i am not sure how this works. but i have a question i hope someone can answer. i just recently found out that my father in law had invested stock some 30 years ago in a company called Invesco Financial Industrial Fund. We never knew this existed and therefore have not done anything with it. The treasury dept. of the state of VA has him listed as having unclaimed property and they told me they believe that it is stock through this company. Now they are looking into further info for us but said that could take another 8-10 weeks. What we are wondering is if someone invests stock in a company and its not looked at or touched for greater than 30 years, would it even be worth anything at this point. How exactly does stock work anyway? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

And as far as your question your guess is as good as mine. I have gotten this question tons of times here on the forum and all we can suggest is speaking with a broker who can help you track down the actual shares. There doesnt seem to be any defined process of getting them back. Please update us though on any positive resolutions!
