I have a half a dozen etfs set up for long haul ,then a cpl just to play around with,along with some speculative individual stocks.As far as mutual funds go ,i seen the founder of Vanguard on TV cpl weeks back ,he stated mutual funds are more of a back water fund these days,and that etfs will be even more creative in years to come ,i think they have only been around sence 93.only time will tell ,but it is a good way to get the whole basket at once.
