Welcome to the New Look for StockTradingToGo

It has been over two years since I had this blog updated with a fresh design. With TraderMike receiving a similar makeover, I am very excited to launch the brand new look for StockTradingToGo.

For StockTradingToGo there were several key areas that I wanted to spruce up. The biggest was the homepage, and from the screenshot below you should be able to note the differences very quickly.

The new homepage finally has images! Post excerpts at last include a featured image from the post which really helps to identify the content. Also, easier to read larger font alongside social media buttons have made an appearance.

For this new look I went on a search for the best designer I could find. Getting the job done right was more important than anything, especially because the new theme was also going to be used for TraderMike as well.

So, after extensive searching I ended up at the website's of one of best WordPress designers currently in the business, Rafal Tomal of TomalDesigns. Rafal is the lead designer for CopyBlogger Media and has done designs for several A-list bloggers including CopyBlogger, ProBlogger, and ChrisBrogran. Being extremely busy already, I was elated when Rafal accepted the challenge of revamping two sites at once. Overall, I can't recommend him enough.

The goals for the design were highlighted as follows:

1. Create a seemless link between TraderMike andStockTradingToGo.
2. Completely overhaul the homepage and simplify the headers + footers.
3. Focus on the content with larger and cleaner fonts.
4. Make the blog social friendly with Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus integration on the homepage as well as individual posts.
5. Speed up page load times by taking advantage of the Genesis Framework.

While there are still some small areas to be hashed out in the coming weeks (if you see anything strange please leave a comment or email me), overall the launch went very smooth.

I said this on TraderMike, and I want to reiterate here that StockTradingToGo is what is it because of you, the readers. STTG has over 11,000 subscribers and while posting is only once or twice a week, the focus remains on putting out high quality educational content.
